The H&P Story

Humphries & Parks has been a well-known name in Kent for nearly 75 years, starting from a small high street shop in Wadhurst to now operating from a purpose built 3-acre site in West Malling, see our journey below.

  • 1947

Charles Humphries & Arthur Parks, brothers in law from Wadhurst purchased an old Blacksmiths shop in their village after leaving the army after the 2nd world war.

The business began selling and repairing lawnmowers and agricultural machinery before moving onto used vehicle sale and repair in the late 1950s.

  • 1976

Humphries & Parks become the Mitsubishi franchise holders for Maidstone, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks. Making us the longest established Mitsubishi dealer in the UK.

Humphries & Parks grows to four sites across Kent showcasing the Mitsubishi, Daihatsu, and KIA brands.

  • 2012

Current owner Mr Marcus Joy, purchased the remaining West Malling based Mitsubishi business from the founders nephews.

Huge success in his first few years in charge saw Marcus’ team receive two national industry awards (AM & MotorTrader).

  • 2017

Huge expansion and a newly designed site allows the H&P team to grow to 25 staff members and to stock in excess of 80 vehicles.

Humphries & Parks become only one of 100 UK business to achieve EVA accreditation by the Office For Low Emission Vehicles, a credit to our teams knowledge of Electric & Hybrid vehicle sale and repair.

  • 2021

Marcus’ sons, Sam , Bruno & Soren now play an integral role in the business and have achieved record growth retailing over 100 vehicles a month. The team is now up-to 30 members and counting!

Humphries & Parks celebrates winning the Customer Experience category at the AutoTrader Retailer Awards 2022! Another award to add to their collection.
